Tasheka Arceneaux Sutton is an educator, graphic designer, and writer. She is an Associate Professor of Design and a faculty member in the M.F.A. program in Graphic Design at Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is the founder of Blacvoice Design, a studio specializing in branding, electronic media, identity, illustration, and publication design. Typography plays a central role in her practice, including hand-lettering, typesetting, and the deconstruction of letterforms through both analog and digital processes. Her research centers on uncovering Black individuals omitted from the graphic design history canon and examining the visual representation of Black people in media and popular culture, particularly through the lens of stereotypes.
